I wasn’t aware of this but apparently, Venmo is passe. As a lovely friend recently said to me, “Venmo is for old ladies and drug dealers,” which forced me to ponder how to find a local dealer lest I be considered the former.
Apparently, the not-even-new-anymore kid on the block is Zelle (pronounce it like it rhymes with “tell.” Like don’t tell me how to talk, Jen). This connects to your bank account and allows you to send money almost instantly and for free. There are a few ways it can work – for most folks your bank is probably already connected to Zelle. If you’re uncomfortable making that connection or your bank is not on the list of connected institutions, you can go the more traditional route and connect a debit card.
In any case, this is the future, people. If you don’t already have this app, get it and you’ll then be ready to read this post and send us your money! (Although as the post says, you can pay us in other ways as well, including by check, which is probably not the preferred method of drug dealers.) If you have questions, please drop us a note in the comments or on the Contact Us page.
Hope this is useful. Then even if you don’t come to the reunion you can at least say “hey, I read that blog post that one time about Zelle, and that worked out.”
